And thats Mari for you!

Hola!
Here's your daily dose of Spanish excitement!
Let me start by explaining the kind of day I had today haha. It was slightly clumsy-my host family probably thinks I have issues. I don't know what it was! First I fell up the stairs in the morning, then later I was on a walk with Katie and we were talking in Spanish, when we came around the corner I saw my host Dad. I was so excited that I was like HI! and then I was like -whops he speaks Spanish!
Then when I came back from my walk, and I was opening the door with my key and it was kind of dark....I thought I was flipping on the light and I rang the doorbell! I got inside and my host Dad and brother gave me the weirdest look. I apologized but had no idea how to explain what had happened, they don't exactly teach you the vocabulary for explaining doorbell misuse in Spanish 101!

THEN after dinner I went out with some of my friends, well atleast tried to. After the whole doorbell issue, I couldn't remember for the life of me where I had put my keys! One of the girls in our group lives next door and we always meet up to walk together. I was trying to hurry up cause I needed to meet her outside. So I decided to run downstairs and shout out the door that I would be out soon, but on the way I smacked into my wardrobe! I opened my door to my family who was watching TV and kind of sheepishly smiled and waved at them to let them know I was ok...then I ran down stairs to open the door to the outside to tell my friend to wait but I couldnt open the door cause they had double locked it already- and needed the key to open it. I was wishing I knew some morse code to let her know that I was on my way or something...so then I ran back upstairs, smiled and waved at my parents again who were no longer interested in their show with all the noise I was making, and went to look for my key again....

here I am thinking that I wouldn't be able to go out cause I was trapped in my house and I ran into my wardrobe again! Finally I found my key- I had put them in my shoes!....I have no idea why though Ok, so I had found the keys, but how could I posibibly face/explain this situation to my family who was most likely questioning my ability to function as a normal person.

I opened my door to 3 sets of eyes looking at me. I apologized for "los ruidos" the noises and wished them a good night! They told me that maybe I should think about coming home earlier to sleep... haha Oh well!
That is my Mari story of the day. For my friends in Lakeville and roomates...I wish I could classify this as a "Mari moment" but it is more like a "The new and improved collection of Mari moments-Spanish Style"

Ok so this post doesn't have a whole lot of relative content but I will post another one which is more informative!

Hope that all of you in MN are staying warm-I hear it is freezing!
Love to all!
